Training and complementary knowledge
In order to be able to support you in the best possible way with your specific pain or discomfort, I regularly take training. In doing so, I attach great importance to scientifically sound findings that support the methods of Pohltherapy® and provide you with added value.
Supervisions and special topics of Pohltherapy®
In recent years, I have participated in training on the following topics:
- Breathing (2023)
- Pelvic floor discomfort (2022)
- Legs (2023)
- Depression (2024)
- Feed and joint deformities (2026)
- Lump in the throat (2024)
- Iliopsoas (2026)
- Neuro-Regeneration (2026)
- Shoulder, arm and hand (2022)
- Dizziness (2023)

Current knowledge from pain research
Many people suffer from pain without an explanation as to why. This is worrying and frightening. Therefore, it can be an important step on the road to improvement for you as a sufferer to understand how pain arises, what happens in the nervous system in the course of pain perception and how stress, emotions and environmental factors can influence these processes.
First of all, pain is an important protective signal of the brain to protect the entire organism from greater harm. Pain indicates that there is a danger to tissue and nerves, e.g. after an injury. But pain is not a simple 1:1 (injury = pain / pain = injury) phenomenon, but a very complex interaction of the immune system, vegetative and endocrine system and can also occur when there is no danger (anymore) to the overall system.
Sharing this knowledge with you in parallel to physical treatment is an important part of my offer, as this knowledge can reduce anxiety and thus often improve overall well-being.

Concepts from Neuroathletics Training (NAT)
Every physical movement places a request to the central nervous system (CNS). Limited functions in the CNS can block natural movement sequences and thus lead to discomfort or perpetuate existing discomfort and restrictions. The body is only as powerful and mobile as the brain allows it to be, because the main task of the brain is to keep the entire organism alive. Therefore, the brain decides in favor of safety in supposedly risky movements and has a movement-restricting effect. This can happen in very different ways, for example in the form of pain or muscle tension, limited mobility or endurance.
In the case of acute injuries or after surgery, this reaction is useful and protective. However, in the case of long-lasting symptoms without an organic cause, it can stand in the way of a complete recovery. Therefore, I selectively use individual methods of neuroathletics training when certain movement patterns cannot be controlled despite successful release of muscular and connective tissue tension.
As the name Neuroathletics Training suggests, the corresponding methods were initially developed for the training of competitive athletes to help them dissolve blockages that prevent the activation of their full performance potential. Dr. Eric Cobb developed the basics of Neuroathletics Training based on findings from neuroscience and from the common practice of therapy and athletic training. Building on this, Lars Lienhard has further developed and refined Neuroathletics Training.

Gaga Movement Language
Gaga is a movement language that the long-time artistic director and choreographer of the Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Ohad Naharin, initially developed for self-therapy after a serious back injury and continues to develop and teach until today. It enables people of all ages or fitness levels and regardless of any limitations that may exist, to explore new movements, to feel freedom, well-being, explosiveness and to strengthen the connection to their own imagination. Entrenched and restrictive patterns can be overcome and thus positive and joyful new experiences can be made with one’s own body.
In the case of long-lasting complaints, a negative view of one’s own body, accompanied by frustration, often develops, which is perceived as a “problem”. Through integration of Gaga elements into the treatment, this negative self-perception can be overcome in a playful way and the many abilities of our body come more to the attention again. In the best case, the combination of music, movement, perception and imagination also increases the joy of life in general.
